Key Attributes: Generally, this is a 15 to 20 slide deck with an accompanying verbal script designed for initial pitch meetings with venture capital investors or strategic partners. The deck is usually projected onto a screen or flat-panel display during meetings (vs. being printed out). Deck should present the management team, business model, market, customers, competitive differentiation, launch and rollout plans, funding needs and uses, financial projections, progress to-date, and various other topics. Deck is often tailored to the purpose and stage of the meeting.

Note: if the deck is to be used for live presentations, it is critical to place the emphasis on the CEO's verbal script, and to use the slides as supporting material. As such, the deck should be well organized and have a minimal amount of text. All text and diagrams should be used mainly to highlight or reinforce key concepts expressed orally by the CEO.
