Purpose: Used to succinctly present your business opportunity to investors or strategic partners.
Key Attributes: High-level overview of the business and opportunity, typically no more than 3 pages. Document should present the entire business, but with only the minimal level of detail necessary. Writing must be extremely crisp and tight. Typically includes descriptions of the market opportunity, business/products, competitive differentiation, management, funding needs and uses, financial projections, marketing, sales, and operating plans, and progress to-date. Generally created after the development of a business plan and financial model, though occasionally an "expanded executive summary" is written in lieu of a full plan.

the opportunity to others in the firm
» Leads to a meeting or to a request for more information.
